The first extreme pepper created on Reunion Island 

 Frequently leaving the fiery lavas hurtling down its vertiginous slopes, 
 the Piton de la Fournaise peaking at 2632m remains one of the most active volcanoes in the world. 
 Located in the middle of the Indian Ocean, a small pebble named the island of Reunion shelters a volcanic ground rich in minerals giving life and fertility to good numbers of plant species. 

 It was in this tropical climate conducive to the good development of peppers that the first cross was born between a Ghost Pepper , one of the strongest peppers in the world and a 7 Pot Brain Strain, a parent of choice which gives it this characteristic rough appearance. It took almost three years of development to stabilize La Fournaise by reproducing the best phenotypes and thus give it this unique silhouette. 
 

 You will be surprised by the appearance that this beautiful plant will take when it starts to bloom! 

 The fruits will first present a greenish appearance reminiscent of a virgin nature at its beginnings, then take on a yellow tone which will initiate a transformation towards a red reminiscent of incandescent lava. 
 And as time goes by you will see La Fournaise's skin take on a shape that will unquestionably evoke molten lava cooling in contact with air, about to mutate into a solid and pleated volcanic rock. 
 
 The diverse genetic heritage of this new variety ensures vigorous growth and abundant yields when grown under ideal conditions. It is also a variety particularly resistant to diseases. 
 
 How strong is it? 
 
 La Fournaise is an extreme pepper. Its classification on the Scoville scale is not yet known in the absence of laboratory test (for the moment) , but you can believe us that it undoubtedly exceeds the 1 million mark! 
 The flavor of La Fournaise resembles that of a Bhut Jolokia, but with an aroma   more fruity that will invade your palate. Its " heat " is delayed, so don't be surprised if you don't feel anything during the first 3 seconds ...
